Age Barrier?

From Canon John Jordan: Hello, Clinton. I've just moved into a "seniors' residence", and checking over the blogs I've missed in the moving process. I had to chuckle when I read a couple of questions sent to you asking about an age barrier. I think that the only barrier is in the head of the would-be performer. At 82, I'm debating whether or not to get another figure to keep me fresh.

If he's alert enough to debate the issue at 82, I say he's alert enough to perform. Unless mobility is a drawback, go for it. Remember George Burns at 82. As mobile as when he was with Gracie? Maybe not. Still getting the laughs? As sure as you're reading this.

I have a mobility problem, but I've never stopped. If I'm "moving", "Sweeny" sits on my knee and rides along on my scooter. My point with Clinton was that people in their 40s and 50s who ask him if it's too late to get started should do as you say, and "Go for it"! I have several figures, but most of my audiences have seen them several times before. Thanks for your comment. John.

  3. When someone of an advanced age wants to start something new there should be no one or nothing in the way of stopping that person...I met a young lady of 93 who just graduated from medical school and I askwed her why..Her answer was a change of careers, never gave it a thought of age, never even entered her mind.
