Any advice?
I had a question from Hugh Troyer about the best way to travel by airlines with his vent figure, "Joe". It's been so long since I have flown, I am hesitant to offer advice in light of today's travel regulations and restrictions. If you have experience in airline travel with your vent figure(s), both Hugh and I would appreciate your comments.

When I traveled from the USA to Hungary (we are Baptist missionaries), I packed Wally's head in my carryon and his body in the suitcase with clothes in his body and around his body. NO damage. We went thru London Gatwick Airport. Security x-rayed my carryon and saw Wally's head and I told her it was my ventriloquist figure. I asked her if she wanted to hear Wally speak and she said, "That is not necessary." They saw the mechanics in the head and he passed thru security. Have a picture of you two in easy reach to show security. Good luck in your traveling. Dan Peters and Wally

ReplyDeleteIf he will fit in your carry on I would try to take him complete as carry on. If your suitcase goes astray, it is hard to work with just a head.
ReplyDeleteI mostly use soft figures so that works out OK.
I always carried the heads as carry ons and checked the bodies in as baggage as I can always put together a body on the fly if need be.
