Goodbye Professor Thumbs

Canadian, Reverend Edward Smith (aka, Professor Thumbs) passed away Feb. 15th, 2011, just a week shy of his 87th birthday.

Many of you know of Rev. Smith having used one of the several ventriloquist dialogues books he authored that were published by Maher Studios. Humor with a ministry message.

Our sympathies to Lois, Rev. Smith's wife, and their family, daughter Colleen and her husband John Wood and Peter and his wife Kim Smith. And four grandchildren.

Dear Clinton, It is always sad to hear of the passing of anyone. The Good Reverend Edward Smith, having written so many Gospel Books for Ventriloquism will be remembered here for many years to come. I wonder how he got the nick name Professor Thumbs?

Losing a Ventriloquist, means losing not only the person but the magic they perform with their little friends as well. I am sure his family, many friends, and past audiences will miss him tremendously, but now he will be able to perform for the Good Lord and his Heavenly Hosts, in person. Lord Have Mercy!

Best Regards, Joe "Capt. Joe" Radle </:o)

  2. I believe "Professor Thumbs" was self-designated, and likely was reference to his programs with gospel illusions.
